Clowning Around can be serious business -story by Rafael Rondon
Rafael was a member of the 2010 David Moss team which went to Los Corralitos, Honduras. |
 |
During this week we had children’s church at a home that had a fairly big front porch. It may have not been big enough for the 200+ kids that were there, but they all found a way to fit in there. Some of the bigger kids stood on the side of the house. This particular day, I was presenting the gospel through Clowning and we had so many kids that many had to remain standing. |
|
| There were some teenagers and a few adults that passed by and were attracted to come closer and stay. When the invitation was presented, the children began to respond. All of a sudden from behind the crowd came a 53 year old man who made his way to the very front. He said, I want to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. At that time Wilmer took the kids and the man to the side and counseled with them about their profession of faith. |

Dying to get there... -story by Mike Edwards
Mike was the missionary in charge of the 2010 Marty Barnes team which went to San Francisco de Lempira in Honduras. |
| In San Francisco, around midday, some people came to the clinic and asked for a Doctor to come quickly to the Heath Center, which was about a block away from our clinics. When Dr Alfredo arrived, we saw an elderly gentleman lying motionless on the table. Dr. Alfredo preformed CPR on the man, but to no avail. The man had died suddenly from a heart attack. |

| The wife, standing by his side, was devastated, as any wife would be of 50 + years of marriage. He was 86 years old. From the ink on his finger, I could tell he had been through our clinic. Many of the family members began to arrive. Dr. Alfredo began to explain to the family that there was nothing we could do. We asked the family if they had the money for a casket and of course they said no. The team agreed to buy a casket. I asked one of our drivers to travel to Erandique to purchase a casket for the family. Two young men proceeded to get into the truck, and I asked if they were family members. They smiled and said that they were grandsons. I started to offer my condolences, by saying I was sorry for their loss. However, Antonio, one of our staff members, quickly interrupted me as he began to shout in a voice so loud that the angels could hear him saying, “Mike, don’t say you’re sorry! THIS MAN CAME TO OUR SECOND SERVICE TO HEAR THE GOSPEL THIS MORNING! HE ACCEPTED CHRIST LESS THAN 4 HOURS AGO! HE IS FAR BETTER OFF THAN YOU OR ME! HE’S IN THE PRESENCE OF OUR GOD ALMIGHTY! HOW MUCH BETTER COULD IT BE? FOUR HOURS AGO...HE WOULD HAVE DIED AND GONE TO HELL, BUT HE’S IN HEAVEN WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. He then proceed to explain to the grandsons that he was certain that they would miss their Grandfather and that would be normal, but that it was very important to rejoice and be glad that their Grandfather had given his life to Christ. God’s timing is perfect! When you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can rejoice and be glad every day, regardless of your circumstances because He said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Heb. 13:5 |
