| Bible Institute Receives Major Gifts |
Progress continues at the Thomas Herrington Bible Institute in Honduras after the terrible storm this spring that devastated the chapel and damaged the dining and kitchen facilities. Many of our supporters have responded with concern and financial support for which we are grateful and humbled.
As you know, non-profit ministries must dedicate a lot of prayer and effort to fundraising. And there is great rejoicing when gifts are received – your gifts bring us joy and encouragement! At times, we share especially good news about “major” gifts. And as you will see in this case, what BMDMI may consider a “major” gift may not be considered as such by a larger organization.

This past month, we received a special gift for construction of the new chapel at the Bible Institute. Three of our Honduran churches (God With Us Baptist Church of Moramulca, Mount Sinai Baptist Church of Algodonal, and God is Light Baptist Church of Las Marias) each gave a what was a major gift for them for the reconstruction project. The gifts of these three churches totaled $68.60. While these donations may seem somewhat small in financial terms, they represent a great sacrifice and therefore are as significant as the other larger gifts we have received.
Their generosity reminds me of what Paul said about the church at Macedonia, that they first gave themselves to the Lord and to serving Him; and though poor, they begged for the privilege of giving to help support the church at Jerusalem. The poor saints of these three Honduran churches have this same spirit of generosity and service.

During my twenty-two years as president of BMDMI, we have been blessed with many significant gifts, some for more than $100,000. And yet the sacrifice, commitment, and love expressed by this humble offering moved me to tears of appreciation; through it I can see the love of God coming full circle in our mission work. The depth of their commitment causes me to reevaluate my own financial commitment to God’s ministry.
Pastor Santos Oliva of the church at Moramulca says, “Our churches are very delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this offering. The Bible Institute and BMDMI have been such a tremendous blessing to all of our churches for so many years. Our hearts were broken and my eyes flooded with tears when I first saw the destruction of the temple. We thank God for the privilege of being a part of this construction project and this ministry.” |

| GRADUATING SENIORS BEGIN 8 WEEKS OF PRACTICAL STUDY |
 |
| Each year the graduating students of the Thomas Herrington Bible Institute are assigned to serve an eight- week term in a local church. Last month Johnny Arguijo and Elí López accompanied the students to the areas of Intibucá and Lempira where they will serve under the supervision of local pastors. We invite you to join the group that will be coming to their graduation ceremony October 7-10, 2010. If you are interested, contact Hunter Godsey at our Hattiesburg office. |

| PLANS BEING MADE FOR CONSTRUCION OF NEW TEMPLE |
| Recently, Bruce Johnson and I met at the Bible Institute to begin site selection for construction of the new chapel. We discussed with a team the possibility of taking on the building of the chapel as their construction project for next year. We will continue to discuss the possibilities over the next few weeks and hope to begin construction as early as October or November. Please pray the God will provide the additional funds need to complete this project! With the help of the team, we will still need an additional $25,000-$30,000. Once again, we want to thank ALL our donors who have given thus far to the chapel construction – we love you and thank God for you. |
